本节课是人教版新目标九年级全一册第二单元第三课时的一节阅读课。学生在前两节听说课中简单了解了我国的传统节日端午节和泰国的泼水节，对语言以及文化内容建立了一定的感性认识。活动3a-3c则通过阅读语篇加强语言输入量，发展学生的阅读技能，强化对本单元新语言内容的认知。
我借助 “教学助手”进行备课，运用手机操作，课件中使用了音频、视频，结合学生的实际，设计了贴近生活的六项任务，由简单过渡到重难点，涉及了浏览、细读、思维导图等策略，效果良好。
下面简单介绍一下本节课的内容。
Teaching aims（教学目标）
知识目标：
1、要求掌握以下句式：
(1) Chinese people have been celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival and enjoying mooncakes for centuries.
(2) Hou Yi was so sad that he called out her name to the moon every night.
(3) He quickly laid out her favorite fruits and desserts in the garden.
2、要求掌握以下词汇： （1）动词：steal, lay, admire
（2）名词：goddess, dessert, garden
（3）形容词：folk
能力目标:能够描述中秋节的来历，并表达自己的感受。
情感目标：通过对中秋节的学习，加深对中国文化的理解。
Difficulties（难点）：描述中秋节的来历。

1. Warm-up and revision（课堂热身和复习）
T: Do you know these three people? What festival can you think of? How do people celebrate it?
