Unit 9 My favorite subject is science.

I. Learning aims

Use the knowledge that learned to read, revise and consolidate the knowledge that learned using one day’s schedule. Including : the subjects and teachers that like and dislike and the reasons. And use the knowledge to describe your favorite day and the reasons. Learn to make a schedule.

II. Teaching procedures

Step 1 Preparation

1.      Play a video Days of the week:

T: What is the video about?

Ss: It is about the days of a week.

T: How many days are there in a week?

Ss: Seven.

T: What day is it today?

Ss: It is ...

T: Can you tell me what subjects do you have today?

Ss:Chinese ,English ,math..

T: Now let’s continue talking about out favorite subjects.

（设计意图：通过这个活动使学生迅速热身，激发他们学习新单词的兴趣，导入新课。）

Step 2 Presentation& Practice

Presentation 1

Learn new words:

Show the class schedule to the students, and lead students to learn the new words: This is Monday/ Tuesday/ Wednesday / Thursday/ Friday/ Saturday / Sunday .

We have math at 8: 05 A.M. on Monday.

We have art at 3: 00 P.M on Tuesday.

We are very busy from Monday to Friday, but we are free on Saturday and Sunday.

Brainstorm:

Ask students the question: What's your favorite teacher/ food/ subject/ singer...? Why? Why not? Collect as many desc_riptions as we can, and teach the new words: cool and free.

（设计意图：利用日程表学习新单词，复习学生所学过的形容词，既激发学生学习的欲望，同时还使学生提高学习的效率，增强记忆。）

Practice 1:

Finish Section B 1a .

Presentation 2:

Ask Ss questions about the schedule in 3c:

What classes does David have on Monday?

What classes does David have on the morning of Tuesday? ...

These questions can help students get familiar with the schedule.

Practice 2:

1. Listen for the main idea.

2. Listen and finish 1b. (Listen and check the words you hear in 1a.)

2. Listen again and finish 1c. (Circle the classes David talks about on this schedule.)

3. Listen and repeat. Then talk about David’s favorite subject with your partner.

（设计意图：让学生在有任务的情况下去听，让学生学会抓住听力材料的主要内容及一些细节性的问题，提高学生的听力技能。）

Step 3 Production

1. Just now we listened to a conversation about David. Fill in the blanks in 1d and practice the dialogue with your partner.

IV. 教学反思：

以与本课联系密切的英语视频导入，不仅活跃了课堂气氛、调动了学生学习的积极性，还帮助学生有效地练习了一周七天的单词。本节课依然秉承“以学生为主体”的教学精神，采用任务型教学，在完成教材设置的不同形式的练习中引导学生掌握几组反义词、整点时间和非整点时间的读法以及练习谈论他人最喜欢的学科、原因及上课时间。
