Unit 9  My favorite subject is science.

Section B 1a-1d)

 

一、教学目标:

1. 语言知识目标:

1) 掌握下列词汇: free, cool, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday, A.M., P.M.,

2) 学习表示星期的名词,并理解星期与日期的区别。

3) 继续复习“谈论偏爱”和“询问喜欢的学科并给出理由”的语言结构;

4) 谈论一周的课程安排,学会合理地安排自己的作息时间。

2. 情感态度价值观目标:

本课时的学习内容贴近学生的学习生活,谈论的话题是喜欢的学科和一周的课程安排。通过互相询问和谈论彼此所喜欢的学科以及彼此理想的课程安排,可以增进同学之间的了解和友情,培养学生热爱学习和良好的学习、生活习惯。

二、教学重难点 

1. 教学重点:

1) 学习表示星期的名词,并理解星期与日期的区别。

2) 能谈论他人所喜欢的科目,及原因,询问课程的时间安排。

3)谈论一周的课程安排,学会合理地安排自己的作

1) 谈论一周的课程安排,学会合理地安排自己的作息时间。

三、教学过程 

Step 1 Preparation

1. Play a video Days of the week:

T: What is the video about?

Ss: It is about the days of a week.

T: How many days are there in a week?

Ss: Seven.

T: What day is it today?

Ss: It is ...

T: Can you tell me what subjects do you have today? 

Ss:Chinese ,English ,math..

T: Now lets continue talking about out favorite subjects.

(设计意图:通过这个活动使学生迅速热身,激发他们学习新单词的兴趣,导入新课。)

Step II. Do a duty report

SA: student report his/her writing about his or his friends favorite subjects and the reasons.

Ss: Ask and answer the questions

设计意图:1.复习上节课的内容    2.锻炼学生的听、说能力

Step III Revision

1. Have the students write down the words about the says of the week and the subjects on the blackboard.

2. Have the students read the words aloud to correct their pronunciation

    设计意图:复习所学过的单词为本节课的听、说、读、写训练做铺垫

Step IV. Presentation

1. Present some new adjectives, free, cool, busy.difficult, boring,interesting

Let Ss read the words free, busy, cool loudly. Then review the words: boring, difficult, easy, interesting, fun

Students read the words adjectives the week after two students

2. Present other days in a week. Show some pictures of calendar. Teach Ss Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday.

Ss read after the teacher and remember the days in a week.

(Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Friday and Sunday)

 Students read the words of the days of the week after two students

2. Work on 1a. Match the words on the left with their opposites on the          right.      

3. Then check the answers. Ss read the words after some students, then, try     to remember the words.

设计意图:呈现新单词,为本课的听,说,读,写做铺垫

Step V. Pairwork

1. Present the key structure first:

   S1:  What's your favorite subject?

S2:  My favorite subject is...

S1: Why do you like ...?

S2: Because it’s ...

S1:When is the class?

S2: It’s on ____.

2. Have the students work in pairs to practice the key patterns.

3. Call some pairs to show their conversations to the others.

设计意图:为下面的听力打下基础,以降低听力难度,同时也使学生减轻对听力的压力,从而激发学生的学习兴趣。

Step VI. Listening 

1b

1. Assign the task of doing the exercises in 1a.

2.Call a students to read the words and the other students repeat.

3. Play the recordings and instruct students about what they are going to do.

4. Finish the exercises in 1a.

5. Listen to the tape carefully and check the words they hear in 1a.

6. Check the answers with the class.

设计意图:本活动主要是为接下来的较难的听力任务输入关键词,提前让学生熟悉听力材料。

1. Read through the schedule.

T: Look at the schedule below. This is David's schedule. December 25th is Monday, December 26th is Tuesday…

T: What classes does David have on Monday?

S1: He has science, English, Chinese, P.E., geography and art.

T: Then what activity does David have on Saturday?

S1: He has a soccer game.

T: What activity does David have on Sunday?

S1: It's Bill's birthday party.

T: OK. Read through the schedule and find out what classes David have from Monday to Friday.

2. Now listen to the tape and circle the classes David talks about on this schedule.  

(Play the recording for the Ss to listen and circle the classes David talks about. Then play the recording again for the Ss to check the answers.)  

Step VII. Pair work

T:Now lets have pairwork again 

Ss: practice the conversation with his or her partner like this.  

S1: What's Li Tao's favorite subject?

S2: His favorite subject is P.E.

S1: Why does he like P.E.?

S2: Because it's easy and relaxing.

S1:Who is his P.E. teacher?

S2: His teacher is Ms. Xie.

S1: When is the class?

S2: It's on Wednesday.

Ss: show their conversations.

设计意图:进一步巩固本节课的重点句型,建立学生学习英语的自信心

2.Have the students write desc_riptions down and report it to their partners.

As favorite subject is Chinese. He likes it because its relaxing. His Chinese teacher is Mr. Wu.

B’s favorite subject is history. She likes it because it’s interesting. Her history teacher is Ms. Li.

C’s favorite subject is English. He likes it because it’s difficult. His English teacher is Ms. Hu.

2. T: Take a photo of the students writing and show it the screen.correct the writing mistakes.

3. Call two or three students to read their writing and correct the mistakes.

设计意图:写与听、说和读的能力密切相关,是学生综合能力的体现

Step IX.Homework

1.分类复习所学的描述课程特点的形容词。

2. 用英语制作一张你班级的课程表。
